Amazing people at this place, thank you so much to all of the staff here. Especially thanks to the night staff of 6/29/18 , who endured a horrible 14 hours of heroin detox with me. I honestly had never been to detox but the people of this facility treated me with kindness and compassion. I'm a firm believer you get what you put in! I wanted off the dope and these people helped me do it! Thank you westpines staff! The doctor was slightly cold and distant but the staff were amazing.

My four day stay was very pleasant. The staff and group counselors were very attentive and caring. Brian, a group counselor, was very funny and took the initiative to reach out to numerous patients one-on-one. Amber, another group counselor, by far was one of the most helpful folks at West Pines. Her openness about her own personal struggles really helped myself and other patients really engage during group sessions. Dr. Swift, the psychiatrist I met with, was also very caring and attentive. He provided a lot of insight about the things I had been struggling with and gave some helpful recommendations. I’m continuing care outside of inpatient services, and I firmly believe that my stay at West Pines is what set me on the right track to recovery. Thank you to all affiliated with the facility, and to those still struggling, God Bless!

Not just a drug addiction treatment center. It's also a DBT therapy group. They involve the whole family in treatment. Effective.

The staff is very helpful, patient, and understanding. The facilitators that lead group meetings (usually) come from a backgrounds similar to why you're here. Doctors are understandably very busy but can be difficult to see. Counselors (that try to asses your situation) and social workers can be pushy at times, though they do make an effort to listen. I'm uncertain of their criteria for wanting someone to leave (maybe repeat visitors?), however there were people during my stay that it was their second visit, but were allowed to remain for an extended period of time. The bottom line here is you will get results from the effort you put in. This largely comes from taking their suggestions you learn from group meetings and implementing them after you leave. Group meetings are not necessarily mandatory so if you choose to not participate, then you will not gain much from this program. It's designed to socialize with other people that come from a similar background as you, actively listen and participate in group meetings, and start creating the foundation to a routine schedule. The food is decent (not awesome) though I do suggest you go to the cafeteria every chance you get, as the food seems to be better than being delivered to the "group area." TV (basic cable) is provided at specific times during the day/night, however the best experience I had was playing card or board games with people there. Encourage people to join, socialize, and form a bond with this community. Hopefully you can start a network of friends trying to achieve the same goal so you don't return to your old habits. All in all - I'm glad I chose to come here. This has truly been a positive experience.
